Contests Are Finally Here!

April 18, 2010

We are proud to announce the opening of our new contests section! You can now register to the first contest which will begin in 2 weeks time:

Although you compete with a demo account, $3,500 will be given out (yes, real money):

  • $2,000 for first place
  • $1,000 for second place
  • $500 for third place

We would like to thank FXDD for being the sponsors of our first contest ever! Thanks guys!

Some more updates:

  • We have created a new MetaTrader connection wizard and troubleshooter for quicker help.
  • We have created a new Myfxbook EA which doesn’t use the built-in publisher (FTP) but it’s own connection (HTTP) to our servers. In other words, it’s much better than the publisher. Check out the differences here.
  • Brokers can now be sorted:

2 New Languages And New Features

April 4, 2010

2 more languages were released today for selection as your default interface language: Slovak and Czech.

Myfxbook is now available in 5 languages: English, Russian, Polish, Slovak and Czech. Well done guys!

Also, we’ve added some new features to the economic calendar. Clicking on the ‘more’ button in the calender, will open up the following menu:

– You can now filter the calendar to show only events you’re interested in seeing and are relevant to your trading.

– You can schedule a notification per each event, which will be sent to your email address. All you have to do is click on the bell icon for each event you would like to be notified for:

Some other updates:

– You might have noticed the website works much faster; we’ve upgraded our servers the past week to handle the increasing load, and it definitely made a huge improvement.

– We’re working on a more robust solution to replace the MetaTrader’s in-built publisher, since it often disconnects and fails to resume. More details soon.

– We’re working hard to complete and open the contests area, and hopefully it will be ready in the following week or two.

Happy Easter!

And Economic Calendar:

Also, we’ve updated our EA, which resolves minor issues, so anyone using the EA should download and apply the new one (Myfxbook EA).

Developers API And New Language Released

March 7, 2010

We’ve been asked multiple times to create an API to be used by some of the talented programmers in our community. Well, now you have it – the Myfxbook API v1.0.

The API allows programmatic access to your account’s data, allowing to create iPhone/Android applications, Facebook applications, customized widgets and more. The API area is accessible from the bottom menu (http://www.myfxbook.com/api) .

Also, thanks to your hard work, the Polish language is nearly completed and therefore released https://www.myfxbook.com/pl . It can be selected as the default language either from the homepage (when not logged in), or from your settings area, in the profile tab.

Last but certainly not least, the dashboard news feed was changed to FXstreet.com – one of the largest and leading providers of forex news.

Regards,
The Myfxbook team.

New Charts!

March 1, 2010

Today we release the highly requested and anticipated analysis capability – analysis by symbol. You can now analyze your trading system and see an exact representation of your trading per each symbol.

This is yet another powerful tool you can use to enhance your trading – take your time and learn the new charts, you will quickly discover how to maximize your system’s profitability by focusing on the symbols your system is most successful trading on.

Entering the ‘Custom Analysis’ panel, you’ll notice a new section – ‘Filter By Symbol’:

Analyzing the system by different symbols, will reveal important information regarding the strengths and weaknesses of your strategy trading with different symbols:

Not deep enough of an analysis for you? No problem – we’ve added even more advanced analysis – directional analysis.

When going to the summary list of your system, you’ll notice an icon on the right of each symbol’s stats:

Clicking on the icon will dissect your trading per the selected symbol per direction (buy/sell)!

You can also switch between pips accumulation and profit accumulation charts (Click on the ‘More’ button).

The new stats will appear as soon as you *update your account.

*Accounts using a custom start date will have to run 2 cycles of updates to calculate the new charts (the first with full account history and second using the custom start), so please allow for 2 updates to complete in order to show the custom start data.

Just a quick note on the translations project – it’s coming along very nicely and we’re impressed by how quickly and how many users are contributing translations. Great job guys!

Also – the success stories section is removed, as it’s just being a “spam magnet” and doesn’t add any value to our community section – if you have an idea for a new section for our community, let us know!

All the best,

The Myfxbook team.

Myfxbook Goes MultiLanguage (Well, Almost)

February 22, 2010

As you can imagine, we get visitors and traders from all around the world but support only one language currently (yep, English).

We got (and still get) a lot of emails from users, asking us to add more languages so they could benefit from Myfxbook. Translating our platform to new languages would take us a lot of time and resources which we need to keep developing new features, so we now proudly present the translations project – an effort to translate Myfxbook to your language with your help.

The project is voluntary and  you can choose to translate only 1, 5, or 500 sentences, the rest will be translated by other users and will be aggregated.

The status of the translations is updated in real time, and can be seen in the translations home page:

We’ve included the most popular languages based on our traffic, so if your language doesn’t appear there, do let us know and we’ll quickly add it.

We would like to thank anyone who takes part in this project!

You can find the link to the translations area in the bottom menu  (Translations). To help you get started, you can go to the translations help section.

Wish you a great trading week!

The Myfxbook team.

Update – Guys, after just 60 minutes of the translations project release, we’re overwhelmed by the languages requests – all languages will be added (We’ve already added 7 more languages).  Also, looks like the French team are miles ahead of everyone… Will they be the first to complete the translation project? We’ll see!

P.S. You might also experience some slow browsing on our website – this is due to the heavy use of the translation area, and we’re working to resolve it.

Features Improved

February 7, 2010

We’ve made some improvements for the automatic twitter functionality:

1. You can now use a different twitter account for each one of your connected trading accounts.

2. Limitation options for the number of tweets sent so you won’t over do it  :

  • You can limit the tweets to send only after each X’th trade/order.
  • You can limit the tweets per hour.

We’ve also improved the custom analysis function – you can now include the time of day for even better filtration accuracy:

Have a wonderful trading week!

Minor Updates

January 31, 2010

We’ve made some minor updates today:

1. System search now includes spark lines to make your life easier when browsing through the systems page.

2. Trading privileges verification no more requires closing a trade; it’s enough to open a pending order, which you may cancel after the trading privileges have been successfully verified.

We’ve also tested, fixed and made our website fully compatible with the Opera browser.

As always, several other bugs which were reported during the week, were fixed.

We’re working on a lot of new and exciting features, so stay tuned!

Trade well!

The Myfxbook team.
